Get e-charge'd!

BlueSky today launched e-Charge, its new electronic recharge product. E-Charge is an alternative to prepaid scratch cards as a means for BlueSky customers to acquire balance on their phones. Before today, customers needed to purchase a prepaid phone card, scratch the card for a PIN number, and then call a recharge menu to add the money to their phone balance. With eCharge the customer experience is vastly different where they simply pay for their balance and using either the web or a handset, the seller is able to automatically transfer the balance to the customer’s account. Other benefits of eCharge include that a customer can purchase any amount higher than $1, so they are no longer bound by denominations of cards available.

This simple innovation saves the customer time and the hassle of having to find a card, make a call and deal with entering a long PIN number when they simply want to recharge their phone. Additionally, because eCharge will effectively replace scratch cards which often end up as litter, eCharge is an environmentally friendly product.

eCharge is a product uses advanced messaging and internet based technologies. Adolfo Montenegro spoke about eCharge in a press conference launching the product today and stated. “This is part of a continued effort by BlueSky to be more “green” in our practices by eliminating the need for scratch cards which often end up as litter. As a company we seek out ways that technology can improve our service and bring value added benefits to our customers and to the people of American Samoa. This simple innovation is the beginning of many to come as we continue unlocking the power of the cell-phone for the user’s convenience leveraging the power of technology.”

Today eCharge is available at a growing number of locations including BlueSky store Laufou, KS Mart, Shin’s Mart & Gold Conda.
